Participants: their roles
In its Guidelines for Consortia – National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI), the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) gives the following information about participants:
“To complement the consortium’s subject-specific or information infrastructure expertise, additional participants may be integrated in the consortium. These may be natural persons and non-profit legal entities. Participants interact and contribute to the consortium and its work programme on a sustained basis. The consortium can request funds for the involvement of participants.“
Specifically, here are the responsibilities participants could take within the NFDI4Microbiota consortium:
- Suggesting measures
- Designing standards
- Provide data and software
- Use and promote NFDI4Microbiota output within their local research community
- Join the User Council and/or the Scientific Advisory Board
- Give general feedback
Whereas NFDI4Microbiota co-applicants have already been selected, we are still looking for contributions from and collaborations with associated participants. If you would like to join the NFDI4Microbiota consortium, do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com.
Request to become a NFDI4Microbiota co-applicant or participant
The NFDI4Microbiota consortium will submit its proposal at the earliest in October 2020.
In December 2019, institutions that wished to become co-applicants sent their request (see form below). In January 2020, co-applicants were selected. Co-applicants are limited in number, and they are asked for a strong commitment.
Institutions that wish to become participants can still send their request (see form below). Participants can provide the consortium with their subject-specific and/or their information infrastructure expertise.
Requests to become a participant can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org and will be evaluated as soon as possible.
