NFDI4Microbiota Continues into Its Second Funding Phase
NFDI4Microbiota will continue to receive funding for a second funding phase. On 10 July, the Joint Science Conference (GWK) announced that all ten consortia from the second funding round of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) will receive continued funding. This decision followed a positive evaluation by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The new funding period will run from October 2026 to the end of 2028.
During the second funding phase, NFDI4Microbiota will continue its successful collaboration between the existing ten partner institutions while expanding its network of participating institutions. Building on the achievements of the first funding phase, NFDI4Microbiota will further develop and consolidate its services and structures. At the same time, the consortium will advance its work programme to address emerging developments in the life sciences and research data management.
Congratulations to the other second round consortia: BERD@NFDI, DAPHNE4NFDI, FAIRmat, MaRDI, NFDI-MatWerk, NFDI4DataScience, NFDI4Earth, PUNCH4NFDI and Text+.
We are grateful for the continued support and the trust placed in our consortium. Together with our community and partners, we look forward to further advancing FAIR and open microbiology data and supporting researchers with sustainable research data management services and expertise.
